This rubber works well in many acid oils, petroleum, minerals and vegetables. Examples of conditions in which Buna N use should be avoided are: Fuels from aromatic contents, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, ketones, acetone, acetic acid, ethylene-esters, strong acids, brake fluid, and ozone, weather and atmospheric aging environments.
